SIZE: Each pad is 9” x 9” x 1”. Each package contains two pads. Pads can be cut to fit to fit any aquarium, fish tank or pond filter.
MATERIAL: The pads are made from a safe, high-density polyurethane. They are free of all dyes and chemicals. The pads are odor free and 100% pet safe for use in both freshwater and marine (saltwater) aquariums. These are an open cell sponge with reticulated design to provide better water flow and reduce clogging. They provide a safe & clean habitat for your fish and aquatic pets.
SPECIFICATIONS: These pads are 30 PPI (Pores Per Inch). Independent testing has shown that this PPI rates highest in filtration effectiveness. 30 PPI is considered a coarse foam which provides a large surface area. The pads provide both mechanical & biological filtration, trap both large and small particles, and do not clog.
USAGE: Each pad is durable, reusable and can be cut to accommodate various sizes and locations, indoor & outdoor. The pad can be used as a media filter or a pre-filter. Pads can be used wet or dry filters, sumps, canister filters, freshwater, saltwater, reef aquariums, fish tanks, shrimp tanks, aquaponics systems, turtle tanks, terrariums, water plants cylinder, and much more.
CLEANING: New pads should not be washed, as washing will remove beneficial bacteria. After several months of use, clean the pad by filling a plastic bag or small bucket with water from your tank, very lightly swish filter sponge back and forth once or twice. A bio sponge filter will last the life of your tank and beyond.
