The baby’s weight gain is important to measure to see how well nutrients are contributing to the baby’s growth and development. It is very important to keep track of the baby’s weight because weight loss is usually the first sign that a baby is ill or not getting sufficient feeding for a healthy growth. Note that a baby usually loses between 5% to 7% of its birth weight within the first few days after birth. This weight is usually regained after two weeks from birth and from that point on it should steadily and rapidly increase. Curved Platform: The curved shape of the platform is designed to maximize the baby’s comfort. You may put a towel or the baby’s favorite blanket on the scale to make it even more comfortable. If the baby is moving around too much, the auto hold will not function. In this case, press the Hold Button when the baby is as calm as he/she will become. Within three seconds, the word ‘Hold’ stops flashing and the weight is displayed. Scale display: Large LCD display for easy reading. Tare weight: Allows you to zero out the scale to take into account the weight of, for example, the baby’s favorite blanket for the most accurate weight readings. Hold function: Babies often move around their arms and legs because of rapid neurological development in the first few months of life. The hold function allows you to accurately record the baby’s weight even if the baby moves about.
