The outer layer of Perio-Plus Feline Bites promotes dental cleansing, plaque control and fresh breath. The inner core supports overall oral health, including gum tissue integrity and fresh breath. Perio-Plus Feline Bites is formulated specifically for use between routine veterinary dental cleanings. Vetri-Science® Laboratories™ Perio-Plus Feline Bites are a unique product designed to be delicious and simple enough to support periodontal health in cats. Periodontal disease is the number one health issue diagnosed in cats, meaning it is important to support normal periodontal health from the start.
Daily home dental care
Perio-Plus Feline Bites are a two-part delivery system formula. The outer layer includes Champignon Mushroom Extract (Champex™ brand), yucca schidigera extract, cinnamon, parsley, spirulina to freshen and pumice to polish and shine. The inner layer provides a soft contrast and features taurine, natural zeolites, cranberry, zinc and probiotics–Vetri-Science® Laboratories’ original Perio-Support formula–plus added CoQ10. These crunchy bites were designed for use between routine dental cleanings to maintain clean teeth and fresh breath, as well as to help control plaque formation and support gum health in cats.
Inner Layer:
Cranberry
A source of antioxidants and rich in bioflavonoids, cranberry supports gum tissue health. These bioflavonoids also help reduce the build-up of undesirable bacteria that lead to plaque accumulation and tissue and gum destruction.
Zinc
The inclusion of zinc results in less plaque formation because zinc can penetrate and oxidize plaque on the teeth. Plaque formation influences bad breath, so zinc is also meant to reduce the incidents of foul-smelling breath.
Bacteria
Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Enterococcus Faecium are friendly bacteria that help restore bacterial balance in the mouth and gut. They displace unhealthy bacteria that cause plaque in order to support healthy gum tissue and fresher breath.
Vegetable fats
Vegetable fats greatly contribute to the product’s high palatability, and help ingredients adhere to the teeth. Vegetable fats also support gum health through the provision of essential fatty acids.
Taurine
Taurine and zinc work together to support gum tissue health and strength, thereby providing less dead tissue on which harmful bacteria can feed.

Coenzyme Q10
An essential catalyst for the creation of cellular energy supports gum tissue function. Tissue levels of coenzyme Q10 decrease as pets age. Deficiencies have been associated with improper functioning of the heart muscle and gum tissue.
Pumice
Pumice is a natural abrasive that supports polishing.
Yucca Shidigera Extract
Yucca is an herb that helps inhibit enzymes that break down the structural integrity of gum tissue.
Champignon Mushroom Extract (Champex brand) has been extensively studied for its ability to suppress odor-causing chemicals in the intestines, meaning it has the power to stop foul breath at its source.
Cinnamon supports a healthy bacterial balance in the mouth and is known for natural freshening properties.
Spirulina and Parsley are great sources of the chlorophyll to supportdeodorizing and cleansing.
